Official Rules

Effective date: November 9, 2025 • Contest name: Grandma’s “Name Me” Bar $1,000 Naming Contest

Summary (not a substitute for the rules): Buy a bar (or use the AMOE mail‑in) and submit a name idea. One (1) winner gets $1,000 based on judging criteria below. U.S./D.C., 18+. Void where restricted.

1) Sponsor

Sponsor: Grandma’s Lye Soap, PO BOX 35305 TULSA, OK 74153.

2) Eligibility

Open to legal residents of the 50 United States and D.C., 18 years of age or older at time of entry. Employees, contractors, officers, and directors of Sponsor, its affiliates, and household members of each are not eligible. Void where prohibited or restricted by law.

3) Contest Period

Entries accepted from November 9, 2025, 12:00:00 a.m. CT through January 31, 2026, 11:59:59 p.m. CT (the “Contest Period”). Sponsor’s clock is official.

4) How to Enter

1. Purchase Method: Buy one (1) Grandma’s “Name Me” Bar during the Contest Period and submit the online entry form with your order number, your name idea, and a brief rationale at https://namethesoap.com. Limit one (1) entry per purchased bar. Each entry must include a unique name idea.
2. AMOE (No Purchase): Hand‑print your full name, email, phone, mailing address, your proposed name idea, and a brief rationale on a postcard and mail to: “Name Me Bar Contest AMOE,” PO BOX 35305 TULSA, OK 74153. Postcard must be postmarked by January 31, 2026 and received within seven (7) days thereafter. Limit one (1) AMOE entry per person.

Entries that are incomplete, illegible, late, or violate these Rules may be disqualified. Automated or bulk entries are prohibited.

5) Entry Requirements

• Name idea must be in English, up to 60 characters, and suitable for use on personal‑care packaging.
• Do not include third‑party trademarks, celebrity names, or content you do not own or have rights to use.
• Entries must be your original work and not previously licensed to another party.

6) Judging; Winner Selection

After the Contest Period, an internal panel designated by Sponsor will judge eligible entries based on the following weighted criteria:

• Fit to Product & Brand (40%) – suitability for Grandma’s Lye Soap and this macadamia oil lye soap.
• Originality & Memorability (40%) – distinctiveness, avoiding confusion with existing brands.
• Practicality (20%) – clarity, ease of pronunciation/spelling, packaging suitability.

The entry with the highest combined score will be the potential winner (tie broken by highest “Fit to Product & Brand” score, then earliest timestamp). Sponsor reserves the right not to select a winner if no suitable name is received.

7) Prize; Approximate Retail Value (ARV)

One (1) prize: $1,000 (ARV: $1,000), awarded by check within thirty (30) days after winner verification and execution of required documents.

8) Odds

Odds depend on the number of eligible entries received.

9) Winner Notification & Verification

The potential winner will be contacted at the email and/or phone provided within approximately fourteen (14) days after the Contest Period. The potential winner must complete and return an Affidavit of Eligibility/Liability and Publicity Release (where lawful) and provide valid identification within seven (7) days of notification. If a potential winner fails to respond or is ineligible, an alternate may be selected.

10) Intellectual Property; License & Assignment

1. By entering, you grant Sponsor a perpetual, worldwide, royalty‑free license to use, reproduce, modify (minor edits), and display your entry for promotion, judging, and product branding.
2. If your entry is selected, as a condition of receiving the prize you agree to assign to Sponsor any and all rights in and to the selected name (including trademark rights to the extent they may arise) and to execute additional documents to effectuate the assignment.

11) Publicity

Except where prohibited, participation constitutes permission for Sponsor to use your name, city/state, likeness, and entry for advertising and promotional purposes in any media without additional compensation.

12) Taxes

Winner is responsible for all federal, state, and local taxes and any other costs not expressly stated as included. Sponsor may issue an IRS Form 1099‑MISC for the prize value.

13) General Conditions

• Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process or violates the Rules.
• If the Contest is compromised by fraud, technical failures, or any other factor beyond Sponsor’s reasonable control, Sponsor may cancel, suspend, or modify the Contest.
• Proof of sending does not constitute proof of receipt by Sponsor.
• All decisions of Sponsor are final and binding.

14) Release

By participating, you agree to release and hold harmless Sponsor and its affiliates, and each of their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claim or cause of action arising out of participation in the Contest or receipt or use of any prize.

15) Disputes; Governing Law

Except where prohibited, entrants agree: (1) any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Contest or any prize shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action; and (2) exclusively by the state or federal courts located in Tulsa, OK. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation, and enforceability of these Rules shall be governed by the laws of the State of Oklahoma, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules.

16) Privacy

Information collected from entrants is subject to Sponsor’s Privacy Policy. Entry information will be used to administer the Contest and for purposes consistent with that policy.

17) Winner List

To request the winner’s name (first name, last initial, city/state), send a self‑addressed stamped envelope to Grandma’s Lye Soap Winner List, PO BOX 35305 TULSA, OK 74153, within sixty (60) days after the end of the Contest Period.
